I found Cooper living in a vacant lot around the corner from my home. He was clearly an indoor cat who had been dumped, with none of the skills needed to survive the harsh streets of New York. When I first saw him, he was skin and bones. But with time, patience, and lots of love, his true personality has come shining through — and he’s the sweetest boy you could ever meet.<br/><br/>According to his foster, Cooper is like her little shadow. He follows her from room to room, always wanting to be close. He curls up beside her on the sofa and gently stretches out a paw just to keep touching her. Like a dog, if she stops petting him, he nudges her hand with his head to ask for more. And at the end of each day, he hops into bed and sleeps right next to her, happy just to be near his person.<br/><br/>He gets along well with her two three-year-old cats, but he’d also be perfectly content as the only cat in a home where he can soak up all the attention.<br/><br/>It’s been so special watching Cooper go from a scared, starving street cat to this affectionate, trusting companion.
