Cooper's Story
Cooper came to us as an older kitten. He was living at a commercial truck parking lot, eating out of the dumpster when there was anything to eat. Alone and frightened, not knowing where his next meal might come from, this abandoned kitten found a kind human who had come to feed the other stray cats. At first Cooper hung back, afraid of the other cats, but his hunger got the best of him and he started to join the group at feeding time. The feeder realized this kitten did not belong with the colony, trapped him, and got him to us. Cooper is now about 2 years old, and he has remained cautious and unsure. However, this sweet guy is so gentle and loving once he gets to know you. Cooper loves to be brushed, and that is definitely the key to his heart. He will take a patient adopter who understands how frightening the world can be for little tabby boys. Cooper would be fine with gentle, older children, he never acts out, just reacts to loud noises and sudden movements. He will definitely need to have a feline friend at home, and is sweet to the other cats here at the shelter. He would be easy to bully, so a calm, laid back companion would be ideal. He is neutered, up to date with vaccinations, a complete gentleman with his litter box, and a good eater. We know Cooper isn't the ideal cat for every adopter, but we have promised him we would find him a home where he will feel safe, valued and loved. If you have that home, please contact us.
