Constance's Story

HISTORY: Constance was found as a stray in a county with a high kill shelter. She was initially taken in for fostering when her foster mom learned she was pregnant. She had a litter of 5 kittens end of July. The kittens tested negative for FIV+ early winter and have been rehomed. We accepted Constance into our program as she was out of options.

Est DOB: 11/1/2018
Arrival: 10/1/ 2020

MEDICAL NOTE: FIV+

Dec 2025 Update: Our pretty lady Constance proudly goes about her daily routine wearing her heart on her nose! Constance looks forward to the bi-weekly visits from Volunteer Scott as she knows he's always good for some fantastic rubs and pets and he knows exactly where her sweet spots are! If you wish to get in good with our girl, we recommend some deep massages right behind her ears. If she could speak, she might say, "Oh, that's the spot!" Constance continues to do well and is nicely doing a better job at welcoming newcomers to her room. Avoiding them is always a good first step and she seems to be taking this approach. Constance is healthy and content and wants for nothing except perhaps to be considered as someone's full time pet- but til that time comes, she's safe and secure with us.

Fall Update 2025: I heard a volunteer comment about me, “She’s consistently Constance.” Hmm. What does that mean? Well, I’m thinking it means I’m still keeping to myself, not looking to interact much with the others in my room and here’s the zinger…getting almost close to a bikini weather body, but yet falling short of that goal. LOL. Still, it’s all good. I’ve seen several kitties come and go in my room and I casually take in all the action from my window perch. I get some regular pets and scratches from the volunteers and that always makes me smile. I might even join them for a few minutes should they sit on that blue stool near my window ledge spot. I’m never in much of a rush and life is good for me. With my health intact and daily room and house keeping service, I know I’m a lucky girl. Constance

Spring Update 2025: I'm going to give myself a pat on my back. We've had a few new kitties added to the room and I've been a good girl. While I am not the welcoming committee by any stretch of the imagination, still I am not being a bully and making their transition difficult. As you know, I'm not a huge fan of other kitties but I've been keeping to myself and did I mention, I've been a good girl? LOL. The highlight of my day is no doubt when the humans come in. I keep a keen eye out for Volunteer Scott as he's always good for some very skilled body rubs. It's possible I may sneak up behind him looking for attention when he is on a set of steps in the room and when I see his lap is already taken...Uh, likely it's Binx...I politely keep my distance and simply deliver a nice "Hiss" and go about my business. I'm in good health and look forward to the long, lazy days of summer ahead. Constance
