Confucius's Story

I’m Confucius, named for the Chinese philosopher because I appear to possess great wisdom. I’m a chunky cat with plush gray fur and green eyes. Some say I have the iconic “Grumpy Cat” expression, but I’m a perfectly sweet, happy guy.

I lived outdoors for a long time, and was fed there by a Kitten Angels volunteer until this winter’s frigid temperatures hit. The day she brought me inside, I had icicles on my whiskers. I can’t tell you how great this indoor living thing is!

My favorite thing in the world is when someone scratches my cheek, neck, or shoulders — I collapse all my weight into their hand and end up lying on my side. I’m also an award-winning and enthusiastic ankle-rubber. I’m a calm cat, more interested in meditation than exploration. I am willing to be held and will sometimes stay happily on a lap if you put me there.

I’m about 3 years old, neutered, and vaccinated. I have excellent litter box manners and I even let my foster mom cut almost all my nails in a single sitting. I did test positive for FIV, but don’t be alarmed: did you know that on average, FIV+ cats live normal lifespans and have no more illness than other cats? FIV is not contagious to humans or dogs, and it's very different than FeLV. (Also, everyone knows that FIV+ cats are often the sweetest ones.)

I would do best in home with only adults or teens, as I have clear opinions about what I do and don’t like, and I’ll sometimes correct a human with a swift tap. (My foster mom says it’s technically a swat, but I never use my claws and I’m actually quite gentle.) Don’t worry, I bet you’re a fast learner and I’ll train you quickly.

Kitten Angels doesn’t know how I am with cats or dogs but I might be fine with a slow, careful introduction.

If you are interested in this beauty or any of our other angels, you can complete an adoption application online at:

https://www.kittenangels.org/adopt

Please indicate on the adoption application that you are interested in Confucius fostered by Dorian S.

Please note, fosters do get final approval for any adoption as they are most familiar with the personalities of their foster kittens and cats.

Kitten Angels is a non profit, volunteer organization. We rely solely on fostering, volunteers, donations, and adoption fees. An adoption fee of $175.00 must be paid at the time of adoption by either cash or check. All of our adoptable animals are assessed in foster homes, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet.
