Collette's Story

Collette was 10 months old when she was rescued last September and brought indoors so she wouldn’t have to face a cold winter outdoors. With solid blue/grey colouring, lovely ruff and fluffy plume of a tail, Collette looks very majestic indeed!

Her early life outdoors has taught Collette to be wary of people. She would love to join in the fun and get pets and cuddles like the other cats, but her self-preservation instinct warns her against getting too close.

Collette loves to play and has a good appetite. These are both good ways to win her trust, although she prefers to engage from her ‘safe place’, which is currently a box. She gets along well with other cats, and a friendly cat companion will likely help her to adapt more quickly.

Collette will do best in a quiet home, without small children and with people who have experience with shy cats. It will take some time to win her trust, but she has the potential to be a loyal and loving companion, and it will be a rewarding experience to help her through the transition.

Would you like to make Collette a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two de-wormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
