Meet Cola!<br/><br/>Born in 2024, Cola is an absolutely beautiful young lady with a ticked tawny coat that makes her look an awful lot like a root beer float. She's a little more complicated than your average kitty, though, and she's not going to waltz out of here as your new best friend. As a matter of fact, you may not even know you have a pet cat for the first few months. Your only clues will be the clumps in the litter box and the mysteriously disappearing food. She's wary and takes her time getting comfortable, but once she starts to trust you, there's a whole lot of sweetness underneath that cautious exterior. She'll watch you anxiously from her perch, wondering if you'll come over for a head scratch, a little brushin', or perhaps something even better: a CHURU. That girl LOVES her Churus! And when she's getting those coveted head scratches, she'll start purring like an outboard motor.<br/><br/>Cola is a conflicted little soul. She enjoys affection, but shelter life keeps her perpetually on edge and ready to defend herself. Sometimes that means she'll bring out a claw or her teeth when she's feeling overwhelmed. She'll need an experienced, patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and who can offer her a quiet home with predictable routines and plenty of room to decompress. We hope that without the stress of cage life, some of her defensive behaviors will gradually fade. Cola isn't going to be the right fit for everyone, and that's okay. But we've seen firsthand what happens when she decides someone is safe, and we'd love for her to experience that kind of security every day. She wants the comfort and consistency of a home. She just doesn't quite know it yet. Could you be the person to show her how wonderful indoor life can be?<br/><br/>Health Notes:<br/><br/>Cola has asthma and is currently taking Prednisolone to help keep her breathing comfortable. This is something her new family will need to continue managing with their veterinarian. The good news is that her current medication is transdermal, meaning you simply rub it into the inside of her ear. No pills required! A clean, low-dust home and a good air purifier may also help reduce airborne irritants and make breathing easier for her.<br/><br/>Cola's adoption fee is $130 and includes:<br/><br/>- Spay surgery<br/>- Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations<br/>- Flea and worm treatment<br/>- Veterinary examination<br/>- A bag of food to get her started in her new home<br/><br/>That's $300–$500 worth of veterinary care and supplies!
