Cocoa's Story

Please fill out an adoption application here:

https://rescueaware.com/application.asp?c=12001

(Sending an inquiry through Petfinder only is not an application. Please fill out the application in if you are interested in adopting. You will have to copy and paste the above link into your browser.)

MEET COCOA:

Cocoa was brought into rescue after her owner passed away and we saw that she needed a corrective eye surgery. She sadly spent the first half of her life suffering from a condition called Entropion causing her bottom eye lids to flip inwards forcing her eyelashes to rub against her cornea. This created discomfort, constant eye irritation, and her eyes to fill with discharge further impairing her sight. Our generous donors raised the funds to cover Cocoas surgery, she passed her follow up eye check and her sutures are now gone.

We do not know much about her first home, supposedly she lived with her parent cats. Then she went to live with her second owner to be a companion cat. We were told she mostly was independent and consistently came out for meal times there.

She has blossomed and shown her full personality and preferences in her foster home these last couple months. From her fosters: Cocoa spends her days happily watching the birds, squirrels, and bunnies from the window sill. She is still young at heart and enjoys pouncing and crunching on catnip toys. The most important thing I have to share about her is that she loves to be loved on. Cocoa would do best in a home where someone is retired or works from home. She can handle herself alone but she prefers the company of her humans. Cocoas biscuit making skills are 100/10, forehead bumps and kisses 100/10, nap buddy 100/10, performing healing purs 100/10, and of course being gorgeous 1000/10.

Cocoa was not a fan of being around a younger female cat in foster, or the other cats that were in her temporary landing spot before we took her into rescue. We have chose to not introduce her to our dogs to create a low stress healing environment for her. We believe she would be best suited to steal all of her owners attention and be the queen of her castle.

Now for the dream of her future forever home, Cocoa likes me but shes in love with my husband. Cocoa is looking for a man of her own, or your man if you will share. I thought she was a super quiet cat but my husband shared that she meow screams at him if he doesnt start petting her when he enters the room. Cocoa lays next to me but lays on top of my husband. My husband shared one night he got in bed and stopped petting her to sleep and she stood on top of him and started licking his eyelids and he was desperately trying not to wake me up. She is just a ladies man and she is looking for her forever soul match.

We have a young toddler she is not exactly a fan of, she has never been aggressive and simply chooses to remove herself when she is around. We also have a teenager and she enjoys spending time with him. She would do fine with a family that has older respectful children.

Cocoa will not be going to Petsense or the cat cafe and will be available for private meetings in hopes of completing a low stress home to home adoption.

Cocoa is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Adoption fee is $175 dollars.

An approved application and an appointment is required.

If interested in meeting Cocoa, please submit an application by copying/pasting this link into your browser: She is located in Olympia, WA

https://rescueaware.com/application.asp?c=12001
