COCO's Story
Happy Fall! The calendar might say we are in the "ber" months, but the temperatures are still warm! That means we are still struggling through kitten season. We desperately need to make room to get Moms, kittens and other cats in and fixed before the cold comes. Please consider adopting! And tell your friend to adopt too! We still have lots of kittens and some of our older cats have been here awhile, so there is a cat for everyone!! Remember,
adopting saves TWO cats lives! Adopting one cat will free up a cage so we can help another. Together we can make countless more cats & kittens lives better. Win! Win! The kitties thank you too!

This is Coco!
Coco is a domestic short haired brown tabby with big eyes. He is a neutered male, up to date on his shots, around 3 years old and available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Highland Northwest Indiana!

Hiya! My name is Coco and I'm happy to meet 'cha! Are you looking for a buddy? Here I am! I'm a big hunk of cute kitty and I'm looking for a new home! I did have a home but my person was moving and couldn't take me. I miss them but I didn't want to be a burden so the shelter is okay for now. I sure am one lucky guy that I didn't end up in the streets like so many others kitties here, so I don't want to complain!
I'm happy to be at the shelter, everyone is nice and I get lots of wet food! But I still want my forever home.
I'm a little older but I still like to play! I really love pets! When I get good pets my tail gets shakey! Let me tell you this though, I'm old enough to appreciate love and attention, but I like a little playtime too!
I tell ya, I can't wait until I get a new home! I might be a little shy at first but I'll warm up to you quick if you pick me!
I don't mind other kitties so if you have another kitty, I would be a good buddy for them. I'm not sure about dogs, but older kids are probably okay too.
Sooooo...'whatcha waiting for? Make an appointment to meet me at the shelter! I have my own "room" there and we can visit! Hopefully we will hit it off and I can get my forever home and you'll get a best friend forever!

Please call 219-922-1766 and leave a message to meet Coco! He has lots of stories to tell and is waiting for his person Also, please fill out an adoption application which can be found online at TreasuredFriendsRescue.org or follow the link from our profile at Petfinder (scroll all the way down to the bottom of the main page)
*****************************************
Griffith Animal Control, in partnership with Treasured Friends Animal Rescue believes in giving kitties that others wouldn't give a chance, a helping hand at getting a forever home. Our volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to gain their trust to show them they are safe and no one will hurt them. However, when the kitties go to a new home, some will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months. We are always here to help with any questions Please, only apply if you are an experienced cat owner or are willing to provide patience and good forever home.
Thank you!
