Cloud's Story
Hi… my name is Cloud, and I’m 15 years old.

I never thought I’d be introducing myself like this, but here I am—trying to be brave, trying to hope.

My world changed very suddenly. One day I was curled up in my familiar sunny spot, listening to the soft sounds of my person moving around the house… and the next, everything was quiet. Too quiet. My person passed away, and I didn’t understand why they stopped coming back. I lost the only life I’d ever known, and now I’m in a shelter trying to make sense of it all.

Like most white cats, they think I may be deaf. But don’t worry- it just makes me a bit more special and I’m quite smart and intuitive

I’m a white, soft old gentleman, and I’ve always been on the quiet side. Here, behind the bars of this cage, I’m even more timid. It’s loud, busy, and so different from the calm home I came from. At my age, shelters are hard—my bones are older, and my heart aches for routine, safety, and someone to love again. I’m not meant to spend my golden years in a shelter and cage like this. This is all so new and scary and it’s making me feel upset so I’m not exactly sure how to act- and I’ve got my guard up- so I will need time and patience to learn to trust and love

I used to live with another gentle, calm cat, so I think I’d be okay sharing a home again—as long as it’s with a friendly, non-abrasive companion who understands that I move slowly and love softly. What I want most is a peaceful home with people who will be patient with me while I learn to trust again. I may take a little time to settle, but once I do, I’ll be your quiet shadow, your warm lap companion, your steady friend.

If you have a calm, loving space—with sunbeams, soft blankets, and a little room for an old soul like me—please consider giving me a place to spend the rest of my life. I have so much love left to give. I just need someone to see me.

Love, Cloud

For more information, you can go to our web site and fill out an online application at: thepetrefuge.org and print and fill it out and email back to ShelterManager@thepetrefuge.org..
