Seeing Cleo be in the shelter and more withdrawn is breaking our hearts. <br/><br/>Cleo came to the shelter in April 2026, as a WELL LOVED stray. People in the neighborhood where she lived, looked after her and adored her. But the time came when she needed dental work and had to have some teeth removed, so they felt it would be safer for her to be indoors. Some tried to contain her inside but she was nervous. We need a patient person and MAYBE someone with a screened in porch/catio so Cleo can look outside and still feel the fresh air on nice days. <br/><br/>Her community members sent us pictures, her story and still hope Cleo can have a happy ending.<br/><br/>From the people who loved and helped her: “She loves people and would run up to us meowing very loudly and was very social. She brightened up our day. Before we left for work and when we came home she would be waiting for us. We all knew who she was, and our mailman told us her name. She would let us pet her belly, touch and massage her paws, but she never let us pick her up. We could even play with her with wand toys, or fallen leaves. She did sit on my one person’s lap the night before her dental surgery (there's a cuddler in her somewhere).” <br/><br/>She’s approximately 4-5 years old. It seems she has never had an indoor home.
