Clementine's Story

Meet Clementine

Clementine is a beautiful orange girl with a soft heart and an even softer side—but she is going to make you earn the privilege of seeing it. And once she trusts you, she is absolutely worth the wait.

Clementine and her best friend Zuri both came from a hoarding situation where they were ultimately left to fend for themselves outdoors. Life outside was incredibly difficult for Clementine. She was underweight and unsure of people and the strange new world of indoor living. She also became a young mother, giving birth to two beautiful kittens who have since found their forever homes.

After her kittens were adopted, Clementine moved to a new foster home. Between everything she had experienced and the changes in her environment, she needed time to feel safe again. Then she was reunited with a familiar face: Zuri. Having Zuri by her side made an incredible difference.

Zuri's friendly, confident personality helps Clementine come out of her shell, and together they have become the sweetest little duo. These two don't just coexist—they play, chase each other, nap together, and pretty much run the house. They even love curling up together with their foster mom.

Clementine is what we lovingly call a slow-blooming cat. Her first instinct when she is frightened is to hiss, but she has never tried to scratch or hurt anyone. She simply needs time to understand that she is safe. It can take a month or so for her to truly come out of her shell, and we are looking for someone who understands that trust cannot be rushed.

But when Clementine finally decides you're her person, you get to see the sweetest version of her. She loves being petted, enjoys spending time with her people, and will happily sleep with you at night. Watching her transform from a scared, uncertain cat into a loving companion is incredibly special.

And then there is her playful side! Clementine loves chasing Zuri around the house, playing in cat tunnels, batting at interactive toys, and sitting by the windows watching the world go by. Once she feels comfortable, she is a happy, playful girl who enjoys life to the fullest.

Clementine & Zuri

We would love for Clementine and Zuri to be adopted together.

Zuri gives Clementine confidence and helps her adjust to new situations more quickly. Clementine, in turn, has a wonderful playmate and companion in Zuri. They are happiest together, and their relationship is especially meaningful considering everything they have been through.

We know asking someone to adopt two cats is a bigger commitment, but we truly believe these girls are better together. They keep each other company, bring out the best in one another, and have formed a beautiful friendship.

What Clementine is looking for

Clementine needs someone who understands that love doesn't always happen on day one. She needs a patient adopter who will give her the time and space to come around at her own pace. Experience with shy or timid cats would be wonderful, but more than anything, she needs someone who will trust the process and let Clementine set the pace.

If you are willing to give her that gift, Clementine will eventually show you just how incredibly sweet she can be.

And if you can give that gift to both Clementine and Zuri, you may be giving two very deserving girls the happy ending they have been waiting for.
