Curmudgeonly on the outside but soft as a baked potato at heart, Claude is a sweet five-year-old looking for a home with patient humans and, ideally, a friendly cat companion. Claude is in great health overall - he is negative for FIV and FeLV, neutered and vaccinated, and has no underlying health concerns. He has been through some adversity in his life, and has the strength and resilience to show for it. During his time living on the street he sustained injuries that required one of his front legs to be amputated. He also had trauma to his mouth and dental disease, requiring all but five teeth to be extracted. No problem — he loves wet food!<br/><br/>Indoors, while being socialized by a foster, he has recovered beautifully from his amputation and gets around with agility on three legs. He loves to play with catnip toys and his favorite thing in the world are Churu treats. While he doesn’t accept petting from humans yet, he will climb into any lap for a lickable treat. <br/><br/>Claude is a social boy and has a strong interest in play and friendship with other cats. In his current foster home, unfortunately, the resident cat does not reciprocate. We're looking for a home where Claude can find the companionship he craves! A slow introduction and measures to keep both cats feeling secure around mealtime may be in order, as our boy does have a bit of residual anxiety/aggression around food. <br/><br/>Claude is a brave, strong guy who's shown amazing resilience in the face of adversity, and we long to see him go to a foster-to-adopt home where he can gradually settle in and thrive.
