Clarabelle's Story

Clarabelle is around 4 years old and came to us from another shelter helping out with a hoarding situation. Clarabelle is pretty nervous but does enjoy cheek rubs and comfy beds. She is slowly adjusting and getting used to us, but we know a calmer, loving home would allow her a much better opportunity to blossom! So far, she has been courteous to other cats, maybe a hiss if they spook her. Because she is more nervous with fast movements/unexpected greetings, she would do best in a home without children.

Clarabelle is FIV+. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus is spread to other cats through deep-muscular bite wounds or sometimes in utero. It is not contagious to dogs or humans. Cat friendly cats with FIV can live with other cats who are negative for FIV as long as both are friendly. It is crucial that FIV cats remain indoors only and are kept up to date on vaccines. Most FIV+ cats can live normal, fulfilling lives! As with any cats, it is important to stay up to date on vetting/preventative care and keeping them inside.
