Claire (moderate CH)'s Story
Hello friends! My name is Claire! I was born in August of 2025, and I have had such a big journey in my short life. I was found as a stray with my mom, Cindy, in Texas, where we were rescued and survived a major illness. In recovering from that illness, I developed moderate/severe cerebellar hypoplasia. To find the perfect home, my mom and I were transferred to Animal Rescue of the Rockies here in Colorado. I am special needs: I have a CH, a neurological issue that causes me to be a bit different. I struggle to walk, but I get around by leaning on things and falling from side to side. However, this issue is not degenerative, and it does not affect how much I love cuddles and purring! I am very sweet, with a side of opinionated sass. I love toys, attention, and use the litter box like any other normal kitten. I do need a low-sided litter box, and although I am great about using the litter box, sometimes I accidentally poo outside of it because I fall out of the box while I am using it. I need a space where I do not have access to stairs, as I am not able to keep myself safe around them. I love to play with people and my mom, but I am not a huge fan of dogs or other cats without a long introduction. I would prefer to go home with my mom as my companion, so please read up about her as well (Cindy). Please reach out to the people at Animal Rescue of the Rockies with any questions or to set up a zoom or in person meet and greet with me! I am so excited to find my forever home. I am spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
Children 12 and over. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

$350 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.
