CINDY's Story
Meet Cindy, a 10 year old spayed female! She is currently in a foster home with her sister Lexi! A note from her foster: Cindy was surrendered along with two other cats after one of their owners passed away. I have been fostering this sweet Cindy and Lexi who came from the same household. As with most animals, change of being removed from their original home to the shelter was stressful. Foster care has made a wonderful difference while they wait for their furever homes. When Cindy was at the shelter in the cat room, she was known as the “greeter” when people entered to see the cats available for adoption. The first couple days in my foster environment Cindy was tentative and hid. Fortunately, Cindy acclimated within a couple days and will greet me at the door of my foster room and wanders about no longer hiding and looking forward to loving attention and playing. Hopefully, Cindy’s adopter does not mind a little fur in their face, as she is affectionate and really likes to be picked up and held for face to face rubs and under neck & head scritches which generates many purrs. Cindy started out as a lap sitter, but when Lexi, the other cat mate was in my lap, Lexi would hiss. If Lexi is not around, Cindy will now jump in my lap for a few minutes. Cindy loves to be gently brushed, has the most beautiful expressive eyes and her fur is as soft as a bunny. Cindy will throw herself on her back for much enjoyed gentle belly rubs. Cindy faithfully uses the litter box. For a 10 year old girl, Cindy is agile and has no problem taking off like a rocket and doing zoomies when enjoying interactive play time. She likes playing with the fishing rod, mice and small toys tossed at her to capture. She will silently crouch while checking out the toys as prey then pounce as long as there is some movement with the help of her human. Cindy would do well in a somewhat quiet home. Cindy walks up to Lexi and gently starts licking Lexi on the head or starts a paw battle. I think Cindy would do well with another older cat that has the same energy level. I think if children are older and respectful of animals Cindy would be ok. At this time, Cindy has revealed mild elevation of liver enzymes, however, is stable with no other clinical signs. Elevations of liver enzymes can be related to other conditions and in some cases never fully determined. Cindy is such a sweet affectionate cat who is so looking forward to a stable home environment to enjoy the rest of her senior years. Please email hsccfosterteam@gmail.com to be put in touch with her foster family!
