Ciao’s story will have you reaching for a tissue. This sweet 18 year old senior boy sadly came to us after his family moved without him. When he arrived, he was dirty, underweight, covered in matted fur, and—most heartbreakingly—completely dejected and terrified. Ciao is starting to embrace love and attention from the volunteers, and we are seeing his gentle, loving soul begin to shine through. <br/><br/>We are looking for a calm, cat-savvy home for Ciao, ideally with someone experienced in caring for senior cats. He has previously lived with other cats. Ciao had not been to the vet since he was a kitten, and our intake exam revealed that he is in the early stages of kidney disease. The stage he is in is very manageable, though as it progresses, Ciao may need medication or dietary changes. Due to Ciao’s age, he is eligible for our Permanent Foster Program. We will cover all of his medical expenses for life as long as he is taken to one of our veterinarians in Maple Ridge.
