Church's Story
You can call me Church, but my real name is Churchill. I was named after the great Sir Winston Churchill. I am a very polite and I have a thick, dense coat almost like a British short hair. I consider myself a fine English gentleman.

I arrived to a TNVR colony in Niagara Falls at the end of summer. I was sad but decided to give things a try. I quickly learned to call this new place home. I lived happily in the heated shelters in my caretaker's yard and even enjoyed spending time inside her home with her for short visits. For some reason though, the other cats picked on me a lot. I don’t know why, I was always very nice to them and never wanted any trouble. All I wanted was to belong. I got badly injured this winter when someone bit my leg. My caretaker decided enough was enough and brought me here to Cat By Cat. She said I was a kind and gentle boy who deserved more. Cat By Cat got me all fixed up and made me feel right at home. I decided indoor life was not so bad, and that I have friends here now who don’t bite me.

I’m what they call a “gentle giant”. I love to be pet and held, and I am quite the biscuit maker! In spite of my size, I am still athletic; I get bursts of energy when I am happy and will bolt around. I will do well in a quiet home as a single animal or with animals that are gentle like me.

Church is about 5 years old, is neutered, vaccinated, and great with the litter box. Church is FIV positive, but don’t let that scare you. FIV is a feline specific retrovirus that cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs. It can be transmitted to other cats but primarily through deep bite wounds. Because FIV is not transmittable between spayed/neutered cats under normal circumstances, FIV+ cats can groom, play with, snuggle and share food/water bowls with other cats in their adoptive homes.

Additionally, FIV+ cats, like Church, live long, healthy, normal cat lives when living indoors and provided with loving care such as a balanced diet of quality cat food and yearly wellness vet visits (like any cat).

To meet Church, please submit an application.

Directions to Cat by Cat’s Application Form:
-Scroll down and click on the “Visit Our Profile Page” button
-Click on “Adoption Application”
-Complete the inquiry for Cat by Cat Inc. on Jotform
-Once completed, the form will automatically go to Cat by Cat Inc. and you will receive a confirmation screen
-An adoption specialist will review the completed form and then reach out to you.

We appreciate your patience as we get back to you as we are an all-volunteer organization.
