Chupa's Story

Chupa

This girl came to us almost 2 years ago now and she has come SO far. When we got her, she had been surrendered for putting her elderly owner in the hospital after attacking him... it wasn't for no reason: he had sat in a chair she was under and she just reacted to the pain. However, she did have a major attitude problem associated with a lack of trust in humans.

It took her months to allow petting without going after our hands. We got to that, and then it took months to allow picking her up. Then, a while to come visit with us on her own accord. She would freak out if her nail got caught and we tried to help her. Freak out if we pet the wrong spot.

It took months before she decided she wanted to sleep in bed with us. Just in the last 6 months or so, she has decided she can even trust visitors when they come over and she will come out and ask them for petting and even try to climb up them for love. She has started to play with some other cats & toys!

She will fight you for a French fry or any human food really. I had NEVER heard her purr, but she also has a BB under the skin in her neck area and I always assumed it could be due to an old injury. BUT NOPE! In the last month or so, she has started purring! She even cleans me when we snuggle! She comes when I call her.

Apply here to adopt: https://form.jotform.com/83264828001150
