Chuckie was a 3-year-old stray back in 2017 living on the streets of Waverly. We took him in, fully vetted him, and he was also adopted in 2017. Now 7 years later, his adopter decided to give him back because their other cats pick on Chuckie and fight with him. Chuckie is back living in a foster home. He is negative for FeLV / FIV, up to date on shots, and neutered.

Chuckie is about 10 years old now as of May 2024. He is all black with a little white on his chest. What a bummer to lose his home and be a senior cat now. Chuckie was depressed when we first took him back. He his and was scared. I imagine he was also very confused. Now it is a month later and his sweet personality is coming back out. He is a quiet cat, so far has not meowed at me even once. That might change in the future as he gets even more comfortable, not sure. He does well with other cats as long as they are submissive and gentle like he is. We do not want him to be around bully or dominate cats ever again. Would probably be best in a home with one other cat, maybe two. He has not been around dogs or children. I think he would love older children that know how to treat cats properly. I think young children might terrify him and put him back into hiding. He needs to be started in one room along if you adopt him and given time to get to know you. His eyes are very loving, you can tell he wants to trust you.

We will update this profile as we get to know Chuckie better.

Chuckie's adoption fee is $95.00.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office
