Chilly's Story

Chilly just breaks our hearts. She is the poster kitty for “scaredy cat”. Chilly is a cute kitty with a slight head tilt. She is around 3-4 years old. Poor Chilly came to the shelter from the streets in December 2023, as a terrified mother of two kittens. She was a protective and attentive mother but her kittens were adopted long ago. Chilly remains at the shelter and is a nervous cat in the very busy environment. She hides in an open cage 24/7. She doesn’t mind if other cats are near her in the cage.

Getting out of the shelter chaos may allow her to get more confident. One volunteer has been working diligently to let her know she can trust people. She is curious and watches everything around her. People can be close but she often gets scared if you reach for her. She really needs a calm environment (probably no dogs) with a patient person who will let her be herself.

She has been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines.

Email us at info@cnysnap.org or visit the shelter if you'd like to meet Chilly.

Link to hours of when to visit cats at our Cortland shelter:
https://cnysnap.org/#hours
