Chico 2026's Story

Meet Chico! This handsome man is a sweet, shy, and soft-spoken orange tabby seeking his fur-ever home! Chico young guy, around 18 months old and fully grown at 9 pounds. Chico came to us as a front-paw declaw (a procedure we oppose). He gets overwhelmed by loud noises and is shy guy who needs a quiet household, ideally one where he can lounge in the sun on your bed. Chico needs a home with a patient adopter who will give him time to settle in and build trust. He tolerates other cats but is not interested in a playmate and would prefer to be your one and only kitty! While Chico's declaw hasn't given him any special requirements, most declawed cats are more comfortable with lightweight kitty litter. If you’d like to meet Chico, please fill out a cat adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a meet with an approved adopter! You can also meet Chico at out weekly adoption event every Saturday 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at PetSmart Eastgate. Our cats are fully vetted and we require indoor-only homes. All other pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. We will not send cats to home where they will be declawed as it is a harmful practice that can cause lifelong physical and behavioral problems. Our cats are all spayed/neutered, vaccinated, combo tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
