Introducing Chickadee! This beautiful girl has been through a lot in her young life. She was originally relinquished to an animal control in southern Illinois when her owner said she no longer liked her. She had clearly been neglected and was covered in fleas and scabs. After making the trip north to NAWS, and receiving some TLC, she was adopted in 2023. Sadly, Chickadee was recently given up again when her owner was moving and not taking her with. Twice this girl has been abandoned and let down by her people. We want to find her the perfect home where she never has to worry about it again.

According to her currently foster, Chickadee is a sweet and friendly cat. She is pretty chill and calm most of the time but has moments where she is very playful. She is not a fan of dogs and would need a dog free home. She does not seem to be bothered by other cats.

When she was returned to NAWS most recently, it was discovered that she needed some dental care (and had several teeth extracted) and had wounds on her paws that needed to be addressed. It was determined that Chickadee has some food allergies and needs a special hypoallergenic diet. She is worth the extra effort, we promise! She now feels much better and is ready to finally find a home where she can be cherished forever.
