Chevy's Story

Meet Chevy. It's hard to believe this big, healthy boy almost didn't make it. Chevy was rescued from under a car in Oakland, dangerously sick with feline parvovirus, a disease that so few kittens survive. But Chevy is a fighter. Against all odds, he pulled through, and now at just 4 months old he's already a whopping 6 pounds of love.

After spending two months in quarantine to recover, Chevy is still catching up on some of the "kitten social skills" he missed. But what he never missed was learning how to love. He is the sweetest boy, he purrs so loudly the moment you even look at him, makes so many biscuits, and even drools when he's happy. He loves to be cradled like a baby, soaking up every bit of affection and whisper you'll give him.

Chevy also adores other cats and is making up for lost playtime by chasing all toys, wrestling with his kitty friends, and making sure life is never boring. Because of this, he needs to go to a home with at least one other cat.

Chevy is about 4 months old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped and tested FIV/FeLV negative. He is available at the Waterfront (Homestead) Petco Adoption Center.

Oakland TNR Coalition's Adoption Policy
Adopting a cat is a big responsibility and commitment, but it's also one of the biggest acts you can ever do for an animal in need. Each cat in our care has its own story and background. All are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, flea-treated, dewormed, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative (unless stated otherwise). Because of the time, care, and vetting put into each cat, our adoption fee is $110 for one cat over one year old or $200 for two, and $140 for one cat under one year old or $260 for two. Filling out this application does not guarantee that you will be approved for adoption. Due to the influx of applications, we may not be able to reply to all applicants. By filling out this application you agree that all information on this form is correct and to our adoption process which includes a home tour, a vet reference (personal reference if you do not have a vet), and landlord approval if you are a renter.
