Chester's Story

Meet Chester! This guy was part of a TNR project in a small river town. He was neutered and released to rejoin his colony and live life. Fast forward and he was picked up by the town’s animal control and put into a cage in a dog pound where he spent about 6 weeks. When we heard of his plight and especially how friendly he was we couldn’t resist going to get him!

Chester is around 3 yrs old and has an ear tip since he was released after being neutered. But his outdoor days are over and he’s enjoying a cushy bed, some wet food and watching some Cat TV. Chester is young enough to be playful but old enough to appreciate naps. His favorite thing is eating treats, second favorite is looking out the window followed by a nap in the sun.

Chester tested positive for FIV which is not a surprise since he was an outdoor cat. But FIV is nothing to be afraid of. FIV kitties can live a long happy life! Their immune system is compromised, so it is important that they get an annual physical exam, and that any illnesses are addressed in a timely manner. They can live side-by-side with other cats who do not have FIV as long as they are compatible. FIV is spread between cats through a deep bite wound. It is not transferable to humans.

Chester is neutered, micro chipped, tested negative for feline leukemia, and is current on vaccinations. If you are ready for a cuddly companion, Chester is your guy! 14327JT
