Chessie =^..^='s Story
Introducing Chessie

Chessie is a 3.5 year old female domestic short hair brown tabby. She's an energetic, fun and slightly quirky girl.

Chessie is a wonderful and sweet cat who craves gentle attention and soft words. Her stress/anxiety levels increase during transition periods such as going from the shelter to a new home, if she is pushed into doing something she doesn't want to do. She's a confident girl that will tell you with body language what she needs. She will need someone who knows how read her body language. If her signals aren't watched, she has been known to swat or lightly scrape her teeth on you. This is an attention-getting behavior that can be mitigated with patience, understanding and some anti-anxiety medication.

She absolutely loves visitors and is constantly trying to get our attention throughout the day. She loves it when we sit on the floor and interact with her. She isn't fond of other cats and has put in a request for a home without felines, dogs or children. She wishes to be the only one. :)

Chessie has mild inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which is a condition where inflammatory cells infiltrate the wall of the gastrointestinal tract. She does very well with an inexpensive medication that she eats like a champ in her food. She also enjoys a specific cat food, which is very effective in keeping her tummy happy.

Chessie has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, viral tested and dewormed. She is so ready to begin living her best life.

***

We are currently conducting in person adoptions on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm (walk-ins welcome, but appointments prioritized). To reserve an appointment to adopt, please complete an application by visiting www.MeowCatRescue.org/adopt and submit to adopt@meowcatrescue.org
