Chepita (FeLV Positive)'s Story
Meet Chepita!

The adoption application can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat

********Chepita is FeLV Positive.

https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-leukemia-virus-brochure

Chepita is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, or locations along their route. We cannot transport to New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Virginia or Maine.

Chepita, her mom and her 5 tiny siblings were surrendered to a city shelter and put on the euthanasia list. Nobody came for them, and time was running out. Then rescuers stepped in and saved every one of them, just in time.

Now this gentle girl is learning that the world can be kind. She takes it all in with her big golden eyes, quietly deciding whether it’s safe to trust. When she does, her playful side comes out. She doesn’t demand love. She just looks up at you softly, hoping you’ll notice her, and then curls up nearby as if she can’t believe she gets to stay.

Chepita almost never had a chance. All she needs now is someone to keep her safe forever.

Chepita is 7 months old, spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and in great health. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy. All she needs now is her forever home!

Chepita's siblings are Lucero (M) and Carmelo (M).

Priority will be given to applicants interested in adopting a pair of kittens, siblings, or who have patient, playful resident cats or dogs at home. Information on why adopting two kittens together is best for their short- and long-term health and behavior can be found here:

http://www.kittenlady.org/twokittens

ABOUT OUR ADOPTION FEES:
Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and transportation costs. Also, when you adopt from ROSES Rescues, you're doing more than giving your new family member a home. Each adoption fee sponsors a cat on the streets of Houston to get fixed, helping end the cycle of overpopulation in a rough environment. We thank you so much for your contribution to our efforts!

To learn more about our TNR (Trap / Neuter / Return) efforts, please follow us on Instagram @roses_rescues_htx.
