Chelsea's Story

PLEASE READ COMPLETE DESCRIPTION BEFORE INQUIRING. THANK YOU.

Chelsea is an 8 year old former feral momma. She was about a year old when found in a barn with 3 kittens. After her kittens were weaned. Chelsea was spayed and started showing signs of interaction.

Her foster mom worked with her and discovered that she loved being brushed. She has a very soft rabbit-like fur. It is thick and brushing regularly is necessary,

After about 18 months, Chelsea would seek out pets and affection. She will meow when she is not getting the attention she wants. Sitting on the arm of the chair or couch next to you is one of her favorite places to hang out waiting for that cherished scratch down her back to her tail.

Touching her face is a big no-no. She came to foster with badly infected teeth and did not want anyone touching her head or face. Chelsea had to have all her teeth removed and she does much better now.

Chelsea came to us with a severe case of upper respiratory infection. She has chronic issues and needs to have a check up at the vet every 6 months to check for bacterial issues. She usually gets a convenia injection to cure the bacterial part of her runny nose. There is no cure for the herpes part of her URI. l-Lycine added to her food helps.

This girl is sweet but is not fond of being picked up. She can react very swiftly. She is NOT a good candidate for a home with children. It is difficult to trim her claws as she is not a patient kitty and her paws are private in her mind. So, she would not be a good candidate for anyone who bleeds easily.

As long as Chelsea is allowed to do what she wants without force, she is the perfect cat.

Chelsea will live with other cats but not interact much unless they intrude on her space. She was attacked by dogs as a kitten and is not fond of them.

If you have a sunny spot and want a cat at your left arm purring for you, then Chelsea is your gal.

(She also likes to sleep on your spare pillow!)

NOTE: Foster mom is preparing to enter assisted living and cannot take all her furry girls.
