Checkers's Story

Checker's recently join us (April 2025) after being abandoned with her crate, Puktrina cat food, and litter, in a trailer park in Conway South Carolina. Whatever prompted her original owner to abandon her, turned out to be the best thing they could have done for her, in terms of upgrading her quality of life to the level she deserved. She is one of the sweetest LAP cats, to join us here. Concerned that she may have health issues, she's had full bloodwork, titer and combo testing completed, with her wellness exam, and we are thrilled that she's in tip top health, in spite of her previous owners feeding her a scam prescription advanced urinary care formula of dry food. This gal has lots of love to give, and a long life ahead of her, and we are extremely happy to be in a position to help make that happen for such a deserving gal.

We are a "Protect the Pets" rescue with established nutritional protocols for our obligate carnivorous cats. We mandate responsible vaccination protocols and titer testing with Kansas State Veterinary Lab, in order to provide continuous protection and compliancy with the Rabies Control Act of South Carolina Rabies Statute Section 47-5-60. Please ensure your vet recognizes titers and is willing to offer affordable titer testing versus blindly overdosing pets with unnecessary vaccinations which contribute to the 50% national cancer rates being newly diagnosed annually in 10 million companion animals. The health of our pets is our main priority, and we require our nutritional and vaccination protocols be maintained. We will not allow our pets to be subjected to even a second unnecessary vaccination overdose, when checking titers can easily be incorporated into annual wellness exams for our animals.

The entire veterinary file always accompanies each of our cats upon adoption and we provide full transparency with the care we have provided.

Please contact Christine@Headbutthotel.org for our adoption paperwork.
