Charlotte's Story

Inside kitties only. Adopting Camille and Charlotte together is an absolute must.

Available for Adoption; The Princesses; Two Bonded Sisters! Camille and Charlotte! Two delicious little puffs all puddled together of white, grey and apricot. Each sister has her own unique personality, and are devoted to each other. Sleeping, eating, playing, wrestling...they are a knot of delicate colors. Both weigh a strapping 4 lbs at 4 mos old.

They were surrendered together to the shelter, 6 weeks old, very frightened, filthy, flea ridden, filled with worms and parasites and clung to each other in their litter box. We took them at the same time we got Zoe because we couldn't leave them so young and scared. It took them awhile to feel safe and trusting in their new environment. Neither one of them a calm Simone or a bold Zoe. The sisters kept to themselves. Charlotte is the more cautious of the two, willing to sacrifice Camille first before she deemed it was safe to venture out. Charlotte is a delicate, dilute calico, all elegance as befitting a royal personage, displaying just a scootch of disdain, you will feel unduly pleased when she chooses you to cuddle with. And she will. For all princesses tire and need their loves and pets. She loves to be on your chest (both opt for that coveted place). The pair of them purr like a factory on high production. Just don't let Charlotte's fragility fool you, she is tiny but fierce! Clever, she uses guerilla warfare to wreck havoc in a kitty wrestle down. Always the last at the dinner plate! Charlotte is an absolutely divine, beautiful, haughty (pass the tiara, please) little girl kitten. For all her royal attitude, she is always the first on the foster's bed in the morning, beating everyone else, for loves and pets! Her most perfect home is where she would be an integral part of a family, receiving lots of love and attention - requiring plenty of playtime and entertainment.

Both are fully vetted: Spayed, rabies & distemper, dewormed, deflead and microchipped.

Bonded sisters! Must be adopted together! To adopt, copy & paste URL—https://www.culpeperhumane.org/adoptions/adoption-application/

Our policy is to adopt to residents close to the epicenter of Culpeper, VA. We adopt to all of Virginia state, lower parts of MD, all of DC. But not to out of state residents unless within the lower Maryland boundaries. Our adoption protocol begins with submission of our Adoption Application. Our Adoption Director contacts you to schedule a phone interview. Humane Society of Culpeper's Adoption Policy
The Culpeper Humane Society adopts to residents of the state of Virginia, Washington, DC and parts of Maryland. We WILL adopt to residents who live outside our usual radius IF your local humane society (or Shelter) will conduct a home visit and act as our agent in case the adoption proves to be less than perfect or you are no longer able or willing to provide for the animal. This is for our animal's safety net to ensure the animal is returned to us IF you will not transport back to us. In addition we would require 3 personal references. All are dependent on your state laws for owner surrender. It is our policy NOT to adopt to applicants with intact (unaltered) pets. If you agree to get your pets spayed/neutered, after the fact, we WILL adopt to you. This is our continuing effort to ensure the control of the animal pet population, and prevent animals from entering the Shelter. There MAY be extenuating circumstances (eg, a 16 yr old senior dog or cat that is too aged to be altered). We make these considerations on a case by case basis. It is not first come, first served, but rather the best possible home for each particular pet.
