Charlie's Story

Charlie is a handsome 1-year-old brown tabby with a heart full of love to give. This sweet boy was sadly left behind when his owners moved away, and he spent a couple of confusing days outside, not knowing where to go. Thankfully, a kind neighbor noticed him, took him in, and made sure he was safe—proving that a little compassion can change everything. Now that Charlie is back where he belongs, indoors and loved, his affectionate personality is shining. He’s truly a lover who enjoys attention, cuddles, and being close to his people. Charlie is ready for a fresh start with a family who will cherish him forever and never leave him behind again. ADOPTION PACKAGE: Thank you for your interest in adopting your next pet from The Haven. Each cat adoption fee of $125 includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, rabies vaccine and tag (age 3 months and up), microchip, deworming, flea/tick/heartworm preventative, testing for feline AIDS, leukemia, and heartworms, a free starter bag of Hills Science Diet, and coupons from area businesses. Please make sure you review the following as part of the adoption process: · Adopter must be 18 years of age or older. · A current government-issued photo ID (no student IDs) - such as a driver's license, state ID, passport, military ID, etc. · Have a Meet and Greet with the animal and our adoption coordinator (These can be a virtual Meet and Greet session due to COVID-19) · Adopters are responsible for bringing their own travel carrier with them when picking up their new pet. · The Haven accepts cash, check, debit/credit card, or money order. * For adopters of cats and dogs aged 6 months or less, or those with a medical condition preventing immediate spaying or neutering, The Haven requires a signed Spay/Neuter (S/N) Agreement and a $100 cash deposit, refundable upon completion of the spay/neuter procedure.

The Haven's Adoption Policy

Thank you for your interest in adopting your next furry friend from The Haven. Due to COVID-19, our adoption procedures have changed to help protect you, our small staff, volunteers, and our animals. ADOPTION STEPS 1. View our list of available pets via our website https://www.havenforanimals.org/available-pets/adopt-a-pet/ 2. Click on the pet you are interested in adopting and click on the orange button, "Interested in this animal? Click here!" You will be taken to a new webpage called Petango. Create your free Petango account to move forward with completing our online adoption application. Make sure to hit submit when you are finished with your online application. 3. Our team will review online applications in the order in which they are received. We will contact you to schedule a virtual Meet and Greet using Zoom, Facetime, or Google Hangouts. Due to the pandemic, we are conducting virtual adoptions. 4. If you wish to adopt the pet, after your Meet and Greet, we will email you the online adoption payment information where you can pay the adoption fee online using your credit or debit card. Once we receive confirmation of your adoption payment, we will schedule a date and time for a curbside pick-up. We ask all adopters to remain in their vehicle and please wear a face mask or face covering. Please bring your photo i.d. as well. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We appreciate your business and helping us prevent the spread of COVID-19.
