Chance (ID 52688)'s Story

Male Neutered, 7 years old, Owner release

Here's a story you don't hear very often. Chance was rescued from the bumper of a car when he was a kitten. He was trapped inside the bumper of a minivan parked at the gym and Prince William Fire Dept responded to get him out. By chance, Chance's future Dad happened to be parked next to the minivan and thus decided to keep him. They were together for 7 years until an overseas move forced him to come here. His demeanor started to suffer and so we sent him to a loving foster home. This is what his foster mom has to say about him.

"I think it will take a while for Chance to feel safe and secure in a new home. But we have had a few special moments where he lets his guard down and comes out to snuggle on the snoopy blanket and curl up with his new catnip cigar.
Chance is very curious about my cats and never has an interaction been bad. He doesn’t hiss or lunge at them. Chance more or less feels hurt that they don’t want to interact with him.
He is skittish with unfamiliar noises or sudden movements. He sleeps away most of his day but becomes very active at night and wants to explore.
He is a very loving cat that just needs someone patient who is willing to take small steps to earn his trust and give him lots of scratches around his neck and face. "

Here is a little of what his original Dad had to say about him and he sounds like a really great boy:
"Chance was his original name but we actually just called him Kitten or Mr. Kitten. He is a talker! He will meow for food and pets and when he wants pets, if you stop and walk away, he may grab at you! He WINKS at you! I taught him how to wink instead of slow blink but if you wink at him oftentimes he will wink back. Even though his official name is Chance, we always called him Kitten or Mr. Kitten and we think he responds better to that. He is such a sweet boy"

Chance lived with a dog, other cats and 4 kids aged 6-18 and his dad reports that he was fine with the kids but if he got uncomfortable, he'd just move away. His dad thinks he'd be happier with fewer pets around and we think maybe older kids because he's still decompressing from losing his home. "

Chance is currently in a foster home.
