Chaka Khan's Story

Hello there! I got the name Chaka because of my big voice. I love to talk with my fosters. I'm a good listener too, if you ever need someone to talk too. I'm around 10 years old, and even though I'm not as young as I used to be, I'm still young at heart! I love climbing in your lap and being pet.
Unfortunately my eyes are not as good as they used to be. I have a corneal scar on my right eye and an old wound on my left eye. They treated my eyes when they found me, so they feel a lot better and my eyesight doesn't stop me one bit! I had a dental too and some of my teeth got taken out. It helped me so much, I eat so much better now.
I am FIV positive. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans. It attacks the immune system, leaving the kitty that has it vulnerable to many other infections. That is why it is important that we remain indoors and up to date on our vaccines the remainder of our lives. It does not spread to other cats in the household like some people think. Sharing bowls, beds, and toys is fine. A lot of FIV positive cats are cuddle bugs and love snuggling up to their housemates and that is perfectly okay! If you have questions about FIV, the Feral Cat Mafia team is happy to answer any.
I'm now all healed and healthy and ready to find my furever home! If someone out there is looking for an older girl to be their partner in crime, then look no further cause I think I'd be purfect for the job!

**I'm spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, microchipped, dewormed and flea treated.**
