Cello's Story

Another beautiful spring afternoon, about a week after Viola's story began, a second story began to take shape. Four-and-a-half-week-old kittens, Cello and Mandolin, decided to make an appearance just before a magical tea party in the fairy garden with a bunch of girls. They popped their little heads out from beneath a woodpile in the foster family's carport and meowed loudly. They had a quick bath, which they did surprisingly well with, to get prepared to meet the girls that evening. Kittens + teen/preteen girls equals an evening of sheer bliss!
They are thriving in foster care. Their first vet visit was on May 29. Mandolin, a sweet and sassy little gray-and-white female, weighed in right at a pound. Cello, a fluffy, chill, gentlemanly black-and-white tuxedo male, weighed in at 0.97 pounds. Both are eating wet and dry food and figured out the litter pan all on their own. The vet did their first deworming and they go back in about 2 weeks for their first shots. Both kittens are already coming to the foster parents for love, attention and cuddles.
The adult cat and 51-pound black Lab mix in the household are helping to mother these tiny little kitties. They are doing their best to keep up with Viola and her high energy. Mandolin is quickly trying to work her way into the role of princess of the household with her feisty diva personality, while Cello likes to spend time exploring and hanging out with the dog. We can't wait to see what the next chapter holds for these adorable bundles of fluff. [Note: Cello has already found a new home, but Mandolin is still waiting for one of her own!]
Adoption information at https://shelteranimalsrescue.org/adopt
