Cecropia's Story

In complement to her beauty, Cecropia is a massive sweetheart. This is a healthy young adult cat, likely 2-4 years old, who was found living outdoors last summer. Not much is known of her past, but she had kittens soon after entering foster care and was clearly an excellent mother. Cecropia has a cautious demeanor and starts out nervous in new situations, becoming friendly and affectionate once she feels secure. She likes to talk and often expresses herself through a variety of fun sounds. Cecropia's favorite activities are blanket, catnip, singing, and being long.

Cecropia tends to feel threatened by sudden approaches and will hide long term rather than defend herself, so her compatibility with other animals is limited and she is unlikely to enjoy small children. For reference, successful pairings have been coparenting with another new mom and later becoming roommates with an equally cautious cat.

If you're interested in taking Cecropia but unsure whether your household is suitable, please include any concerns on your application! She is fixed, combo and rabies vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, and has combo tested negative. Would you love to have her stay with you furever? If so, please fill out an application here: https://www.appalachianpeacepaws.org/adopt

Appalachian Peace Paws Rescue's Adoption Policy
Adopters fill out a simple digital application that includes a home check, two references, landlord verification, and vet references. A volunteer makes sure the applicant can have animals where they live, that all household members are in agreement, that references feel they are ready for a pet, that they can take financial responsibility for a new pet, and that they have properly cared for pets they've had in the past. Once this is done an in person or virtual home check is done and the successful applicant is asked to make a donation (required amounts vary by species) to help offset our costs and the applicant can arrange to take their new family member home.
