Catalina's Story

A glorious little couch potato, Catalina would be a great companion for someone who is looking for a chatty cat who sits on laps. Catalina may not be the most energetic gal but when the mood strikes she'll enjoy curling up next to or near her favorite people. She loves a nice toasty windowsill on which to perch and watch some street drama, Days of Our Lives-style!

She's the kind of cat who is low-key enough that you'll never really have to worry about her being needy, but who also will delight you when she reveals her cute side by showing off her belly, or when she climbs up to share your bed. You'll have to earn this love, though-- she may take a while to warm up and trust you, dear brand new person, but the wait is worth it!

Catalina is a special gal in need of a special home that has a lot of empathy for a little gal who experiences some ouchies, as well as a little sprinkling of cat savviness for the side effects of those ouchies. Catalina has a bad back, literally. She has arthritis, for which she takes Gabapentin in her meals and gets a once-monthly pain support medication called Solensia at the vet's office. These have increased her comfort dramatically, but she's still got a mix of sugar and spice in her. For example, Catalina is not a fan of unfamiliar animals- at this time she'd prefer to your one and only. We imagine she'd also prefer a child-free home due to her sensitive nature and her sensitive back.

She'll come over for pets and attention when she wants it, and also readily let you know when she no longer wants it-- she's a great communicator of her needs and boundaries! She can handle being held for short bursts by familiar people, but really isn't a hugger. She does give the cutest little meows, though, and getting likes her pets, and while she isn't much for a lot of playtime, she LOVES gentle brushing and gets really excited about it! Catalina would be a great little gal for someone low-key (maybe a fellow couch potato?) who wouldn't mind a chill work from home buddy to keep them company.

Catalina is excited for her new home so she can spend her time by your side or watching the world through a window! **Catalina can also be adopted with a 3-month care package! She will go home with a 3-month supply of medication.**

------------------------------------

This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Please email their foster parent at nbelolan@gmail.com to learn more about them!

In order to meet with any cats in foster care, you will need to have an approved application first. To get the adoption process started, please submit an adoption application online at phillypaws.org/catapp. If you have any questions for our adoption team, feel free to email adoptions@phillypaws.org or call 215-238-9901 ext. 30.
