Cashew's Story
Cashew is about 6-7 months old, and has had a pretty tough life so far for how young he is, but you’d never know it with how quickly he warms up to people.

He came into the rescue very malnourished and lethargic, and his kitten energy is showing up more and more now that he has consistent access to food! He has quite the engine for purring and an endearing croaky meow that he uses when he’d like you to know he wants some company. He is a confident little guy and was roaming the house as soon as he moved in.

Cashew adores affection! His ideal activities include lying in your lap, making biscuits, and head butting for pets - usually all at once! He did not have access to toys before he was rescued and seems perplexed about the purpose of toys, but is starting to learn how fun it is to play.

Since he is so young, he would be best with another cat buddy in his new home to show him the ropes, however because he has had to compete with other cats for food before he was rescued, he may not be interested in being friends right away. He has learned that other cats might be a threat to him, so he does a lot of warning grumbles/hisses to other cats (or his own reflection in the mirror). We think he would do best with a confident cat who can give him some space, teach him that other cats aren’t a threat to him, but won’t be too intimidated by his little gremlin grumbles. He does fine with nice dogs.

Cashew will need a safe place to go outside with his family with summer comes. He will be great fun in the yard. He's in Anchorage. Call 907 980-8898
