Casey's Story

Casey joined rescue as, "a mama cat unable to stand, with four brand-new babies." On intake it was found that Casey had a badly broken pelvis, and a surgical consult revealed that it wouldn't be able to be put back together. She had surgery to remove the head of the femur on her worse side to reduce stress on the pelvis, and she just completed 6 weeks of strict rest to allow her pelvis to heal as much as possible. Nobody told Casey how bad her injuries were, though. From the second she got to her foster home, she has been the most snuggly, confident, happy, and goofy kitty. She loves the company of other cats, isn't bothered by dogs, has perfect litterbox manners, and only scratches on cat trees. While she hasn't been around young kids, we believe with proper time and introductions she'd do well.

Casey's pelvis trauma gave her a bit of a wonky gait, and she will likely develop arthritis younger than most cats, but she runs, climbs, and plays as if nothing ever happened. It will be important for her to stay active and follow a strict diet to maintain a lean body condition to minimize stress on her joints. She's still such a young kitty with so much love to give and life to live, and she's excited to find her forever family.

Adoption Fee: $180

Her foster mom can be reached at danielle.r.mulller@gmail.com

WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER!
