Casella & Scrappy's Story

This bonded pair is now available for adoption after being found in an unlikely place.

In late 2025, I received a call about four kittens found inside a trash can. After some warm baths and kittens purring in tiny towels being closely monitored, the kittens were safe, cleared medically by the vet, and doing well. Five days later, two kittens, Rubble and Rubbish, passed away. Casella and Scrappy immediately went to the vet and were determined to be healthy. It was suspected that they were lucky to not have been exposed to possible toxic substances in the trash that the other two weren't.

Who remains are these two little survivors, Casella, our black fluffy little girl, and Scrappy, her orange tiger brother.

Scrappy has always been the braver of the two — a little more confident and curious — and he’s always been about a pound bigger than Casella, which is still true today.

Casella is softer and more reserved, but they are incredibly bonded and take comfort in each other. Casella also had a rougher start after the initial recovery from the two siblings being lost. She needed emergency surgery for a prolapsed rectum, and for a while it felt like one thing after another. Both of these babies have been through so much in their short lives, and because of that, I am understandably very attached.

They’re a little shy at first, but once they feel safe, they settle in, purr, and just want to be loved and play.

I’m looking for a calm, patient home for them — together. They do well with other cats, and gentle older small dogs would be fine. Children would need to be older and respectful.

They are now fixed, fully vaccinated, and ready for their forever home. If you think you might be the forever home for Casella and Scrappy, please apply.

Click here to apply - https://form.jotform.com/82708252435154
