Carson's Story

“Some people make the world special just by being in it.” – Selffa.com. I’ll bet you’re a special person, aren’t you? I think I’m special too. I’m a cute, lovable eight-year-old black and white kitty boy called Carson. My people named me Bruce, but since being returned to the shelter, I’ve been called by my original name, Carson. I was an affectionate, energetic kitten. In my home, I liked my alone time, but I enjoyed receiving affection and petting. I really bonded with the disabled adult son in the home. I may have understood him, I guess. See, I’m different from many kitties. I have pica. Some kitties get it (people too). It means that we eat things we shouldn’t. In my case, I chew on cloth – blankets, soft toys, and things like that. It can be very dangerous, as I found out the hard way. I also get lots of TLC from staff and volunteers here at the shelter! I am always up for playing with them, or on my own. Did you see me on the Paws and Claws Facebook site? I love playing with water under the faucet! I can play with plastic balls and all sorts of toys that I can’t chew or swallow, and I can be comfortable in a space without blankets. I trust that you are loving, smart, creative, and capable of giving me the kind of care that a special boy like me needs. Give me a window where I can watch the birds and squirrels and soak up the sun. Let me soak up your love! I will be a happy Carson boy! Let’s share our special lives together!

I was born around 4/9/2017. I am neutered.

Potential adopters must come in person to meet me. Applicants who already have cats and/or dogs in their homes must provide veterinary contact information so Paws and Claws can verify that these pets are spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations.

My adoption fee is $50 + $30 microchip fee + tax.

I hope you will stop by the shelter and pick me.
Thank you for viewing my Petfinder page. IMPORTANT UPDATE Although our shelter is open to potential adopters during the viewing hours listed on this page, Paws and Claws prefers to schedule viewings and adoptions by appointment. To make an appointment to meet and adopt one of the companion animals on our Website, we ask that you fill out an online application. Potential adopters can either click on the ADOPTION APPLICATION link on the right side of this page, or visit our Website at pawsandclaws.org and go to the "Willing to Adopt a Pet" section, then select the orange "Adoption Form" box. This will allow you to access the Adoption Guidelines and Application Form. You may list up to four animals that you would like to meet. We review the emails every day. We will process all applications in the order that they are received and then once your application has been approved, we will contact you and set up an appointment for you to meet the animal(s) and if possible, do the adoption on the same day you come in.
