Carrie's Story

Carrie is available for adoption through Healing Animal SCARS - Sonya's Cat rescue group <br/>She needs a special home without any small children . Here's a biography from her foster mom:<br/>" Carrie is a sweet small framed kitty who loves food & treats. This has to be watched in order to keep her petite frame as she always acts like she is starved. <br/>She is very playful, enjoys running and chasing anything on a stick, she will watch some cat tv, and loves those little coiled cat toys. <br/>She enjoys being around people but only wants to be petted on her terms and it usually isn’t for very long. <br/>She sleeps with me occasionally, but she is indecisive about where and how she sleeps.<br/> This last part is a not so nice part of Carrie and how she earned the nicknamed ‘Carrie the fire breathing cat/dragon’. She will at times attack my hand or arm and not in a playful way. She latches on with her teeth and tries to scratch with her back paws. When I move her away she will come back doing this a few times. She has done this in the morning while I’m still in bed and while I’ve been sitting near her on the sofa without any reason. She does stop once I stand up.<br/> I’m not sure where this mean side of her comes from and there is nothing that should be aggravating her that makes her so aggressive in those moments. She did this to me this morning as I was waking up. I hope this is not a reaction to her being hangry as she was wanting to be fed. I will try to document what is going on each time she has this reaction. <br/>She is such a sweet kitty and I don’t want this to be a deterrent of her adoption. It’s almost like she’s a hormonal teenage girl. 🤣"<br/>If you are interested in meeting Carrie, please fill out the application here <br/>https://form.jotform.com/253147573793063<br/>and call your Veterinary Hospital to give them permission to discuss your history. then call me at 902-469-6369 to review the application and we can set up a meeting at her foster home.

Healing Animal SCARS - Sonya's Cat & Animal Rescue Society's Adoption Policy
In order to be considered for adoption, you must call Sonya at 902-469-6369 for a discussion to see if you may be a potential fit for one of our adoptable cats or kittens. Then email katsonya@accesswave.ca for an application and call your vet to give them permission to discuss your history with us. We request a donation of $275 for a cat that has been tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, vaccinated twice, spayed or neutered, treated for parasites and microchipped. We request an adoption fee of $350 for a kitten. Kittens are tested for Feline Leukemia, as they cannot be tested for FIV until they are 6 months old, so we generally rely on the mother cat's test result for FIV. Kittens are fully vaccinated three times, spayed or neutered and microchipped, as well as treated for parasites and any existing illnesses or injuries.
