Carolina's Story
Meet Carolina

Carolina joined us through our TNR program, and it didn't take long to realize she was something special. The only nursing mama in her colony, Carolina was never feral — just scared by sudden change. She had been lovingly cared for by an elderly colony caregiver, and it was clear she already knew what kindness felt like.

When four tiny kittens in need of their mother were discovered, we knew exactly who they belonged with. Reuniting Carolina with her babies was a beautiful moment, and she proved to be a devoted, attentive mom. Thanks to her care — and a little help from rescue — her kittens grew strong, found homes, and began their own happy chapters.

Now it's Carolina's turn.

Carolina is a shy, gentle cat who feels safest in calm, quiet spaces. She would do best in a home without children and could be happy either as an only cat or with other mellow, respectful feline companions. She's the kind of cat who bonds deeply with her person once she feels secure.

Carolina has a non-contagious manageable skin condition which is treated with occasional steroid injections to control inflammation. Thus far, she has required only one treatment in 6 months. It's a small piece of her story — not what defines her.

What Carolina needs most is patience, understanding, and someone willing to let her move at her own pace. Given time and love, she will blossom into a deeply loyal and comforting companion.

She's already been an incredible mother. Now she's ready to be someone's baby.

All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
