Hence the nickname Feral Carol--said lovingly, but also with a little fear. Fast forward to now and Carol has made some huge personal growth. We can touch her! She allows it! Does she love it? Absolutely not. Does she tolerate it like a tiny, spicy Victorian child? Yes. Being held is still a hard no, thank you very much. Carol is going to need a patient, cat-savvy adopter who understands that love doesn't always look like cuddles--it sometimes looks like slow blinks from across the room and quiet coexistence. For adoption inquiries, please email: adoptions@mahspets.org directly! MAHS does its best to place animals into new and loving forever homes. Our adoption program consists of a short adoption application, manager’s approval, and completion of our contract. Below are a few requirements of our adoption contract: All animals must be spayed and/or neutered. Adopters must be at least 18 years of age. Renters must show permission from landlord to own pets. Animals are to be treated humanely and all state laws followed. Adoption Fees (Cash, Check, Credit/Debit cards) Puppies (Under 6 months): $275 Adult Dogs (6 months-7 years): $200 Pit Bull Terrier Mixes: $150 Senior Dogs (8 years or older): $150 Long Term Dogs: $100 Cats: Kittens (Under 6 months): $100 Adult Cats (6 months or older): $75
