Carmel (from the coffee litter)

Carmel
Est DOB 4/26
Adoption fee $225

Carmel is a sweet little calico who came to LapCats after being rescued from a hoarding situation where cats were allowed to breed out of control. .
She and her siblings were living outside in deplorable conditions, with no clean water and very little protection from the dangers around them. Their food was covered with flies, and they were ridden with fleas and tapeworms. Kittens were continually being born into an environment where they were at risk of being hit by cars or becoming prey to coyotes. Carmel had a twin sister that hasn’t been seen for weeks...

Carmel is believed to be part of what may have been the second, possibly even third, litter born this year. Despite the conditions she came from, she is a sweet, gentle little girl who deserves a completely different life — one where she is safe, loved, well cared for, and never has to worry about where her next meal or drink of water will come from.

Like her sister Autumn, Carmel is a social kitten who needs a feline companion. She’s probably the most shy of the group we rescued. (9 in total). But when you play with her and hold her, she just loves it.

She should be adopted with one of her siblings or into a home with another cat who is close to her in age and has a similar gentle, playful temperament. Kittens need the companionship of another cat for play, social development, and comfort, and Carmel would love to have a friend by her side.

She has already come a long way. Now she just needs a family who will show her what a safe and loving home is supposed to be.

The first step in our adoption process is the application which can be found on our website lapcats.org.

All of our cats have tested negative for FELV and are vaccinated. If they have been rescued as kittens under 4 months, they will not have a rabies vaccine. They have not only been spayed or neutered but have also been treated for worms, fleas, and have been micro chipped.

We will register their microchip for you, provide you with a free exam visit to a participating Sacramento veterinarian, and a goodie bag! We do not do out of state adoptions for the safety of our cats.
