MEET CARLENE *Shy Cats Club*

This gorgeous long-haired Calico is named Carlene! She's estimated to be around 13 years old. She spent most of her life in the streets as a community cat. She eventually became very sick with a kitty cold and a concerned citizen brought her to Philly's animal control shelter for care. She then made her way to City of Elderly Love for further treatment.

Carlene's mouth was in such bad shape from never receiving any dental care and she needed to have most of her teeth removed due to severe dental disease. Because Carlene could no longer care for herself out on the Philadelphia streets, she'll need to remain an indoor cat during her golden years. It has been a slow and steady process for her getting used to the inside life but she cohabits beautifully with other animals and is warming up to human companionship. We believe her to be deaf, so she tends to startle easily when she doesn’t see you coming. Carlene will likely always be a shy cat but in a quiet and patient home, she can continue to flourish. She'll likely hide when you have guests over, she may need time before you can pet her, but if you're looking for a neat, respectful roommate who will adorn your window sill with her beauty, she could be the girl for you!

Carlene is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She is also FIV/FeLV negative.
