Cardi's Story
My foster writes: Cardi is a very special kitty. She's so affectionate and loving and always wants to be near her people. When I first brought Cardi home she was under the bed for about 5 minutes before she came out to say hi. She immediately wanted chin/head scratches and found herself very comfortable around my partner and I. The more time Cardi has spent with me, the more personality she shows. She rarely makes noise or is energetic, but once in a while she will get a spur of silliness and want to run all over the house like she's chasing something (nothing is there). She loves looking at herself in my full body mirror and sleeping at the end of the bed, cuddled up with my feet or legs. Cardi is playful, fun, and sweet and is a great cat!

Cardi is a curious and sweet girl who enjoys attention. She follows me from room to room and is great company. She may not be a lap cat but she definitely is a near or next to you cat and I wake up most mornings with her tucked behind my knees or at my feet. Wand toys excite her and she can have bursts of energy which are then usually followed by a nap.

Update: turns out she is a lap cat after all. She just needs a little time to get comfortable.

What my friends at ACC say about me:
The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats or dogs.
I would do best in a home with only adult humans.
I have potential behavior challenges that staff will address with you when you meet me.
Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!
I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.
I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

A volunteer writer: When I opened Cardi's kennel, she waited eagerly. I started by giving her some treats which she seemed to like. Cardi came from a home with cats and dogs which we think may have been a bit overwhelming for her. From my interaction, Cardi might want to slow it down a bit with a home with chill adult vibes and low traffic which most certainly is not a shelter, although we love her! She wants to be the star of the show! I found during my interaction that Cardi does best when you let her set the pace. My interaction with her was pleasant in that I let her take the lead. I didn't force anything on her and left my hand there for when she wanted to come over. We had a nice time interacting, alternating with both pets and treats. Cardi just needs someone who gets her and lets her be in the drivers seat! Primary Color: Tabby Weight: 9.4lbs Age: 2yrs 7mths 1wks Animal has been Spayed
