She’s a shy girl at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, her sweet personality begins to shine. An independent young lady, Caramel enjoys her own space and moves through the world at a calm pace. She likes feather wand toys and especially loves relaxing near a window, watching birds and squirrels at the feeder. Catnip and silvervine don’t impress her much—she prefers the simple pleasures in life. While Caramel isn’t the type to demand attention, she is slowly learning to trust humans. She allows herself to be picked up and rewards cuddles with a strong, happy purr, even if she isn’t quite ready to ask for affection on her own yet. With a patient adopter, her confidence will continue to grow. Caramel would be happiest as the only cat in the household, where she can feel safe, secure, and truly cherished. She’s best suited for a quiet home—ideally with a single adult, couple, or family with older, calm children who will let her settle in at her own pace. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt from us. We accept online/electronic credit or debit card pre-payments for adoptions (no cash). NOTE: Please do not ask us to HOLD a cat/kitten for you. Our space is very limited as we don't have a facility. Laurel Cats does not have a shelter or storefront. Our kittens and cats are placed in the homes of loving volunteer fosters until they are adopted. This means our cats are accustomed to being handled and loved. Laurel Cats's Adoption Policy

Since Laurel Cats is primarily a spay and neuter group rather than a rescue with a shelter, the cats that we have for adoption are living at the homes of our volunteers. Please contact us and we will gladly put you in touch with the volunteers caring for these cats. Finding volunteer foster space is challenging, and once a cat or kitten is ready for adoption we are naturally keen to free up the space in order to help more cats and kittens in need. We therefore ask that you only apply to adopt one of our cats or kittens if you are in a position to take them immediately, subject to a home check.
