Candy Lane's Story
Spayed Female
3 Years Old
8 Pounds
$40

Candy Lane is a 3-year-old spayed female Domestic Shorthair (Tortoiseshell) with a soft heart and a quiet spirit. Before coming to us, she was living outdoors on someone’s property, bravely caring for her kittens alongside several other cats. She’s done an amazing job raising her babies — and now it’s her turn to be cared for.

Because she’s spent most of her life outside, Candy Lane is still very unfamiliar with indoor living. The shelter environment can feel overwhelming for her, so she tends to tuck herself into a cozy hiding spot where she feels safe. But underneath that shy exterior is a truly nice, gentle girl who simply needs time and patience to blossom.

The good news? She’s learning beautifully. Candy Lane is adjusting well to indoor life and is using her litter box like a pro. With each passing day, she’s becoming more comfortable and confident.

She would likely enjoy a home with other cats, as she’s used to feline companionship and may find comfort in having a calm kitty friend around. A quiet home, patient adopters, and a soft place to land will help this sweet girl continue to come out of her shell.

If you have a peaceful home and a kind heart for a shy but loving soul, Candy Lane may just be your perfect match.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at no additional cost.

No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.

Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If you’d like to show you’re thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org.

Open Adoption Hours:

Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon – 6 pm

Thursday & Friday: Noon – 7 pm

Saturday: Noon – 4 pm

I’m located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642.

We can’t wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!
