Candy's Story

She is looking for a calm and quiet home. She loves to be close to her human companion. Candy has a silly way when drinking from her water bowl! She will dip her paws in the water and then lick the water from her paw like a lollipop. She has excellent litter box manners and uses her scratching post.

Candy lost her home when her prior human companion had to go to assisted living. Alone and scared, Candy hid for two months as strangers were entering her home preparing to auction it off.

Sweet Candy is now in foster care and has really blossomed! She shows her appreciation by loud purrs and head rubs. Candy loves to be brushed and enjoys batting at her wand toys. She gets along well with the resident male and female cats in her foster home. At times she will seek out the other cats, as she will kindly nose-kiss with them when they come to her.

At 18 lbs, Candy needs to lose weight. Fortunately she has been a champ at eating on a scheduled meal plan. Surprisingly, she does not overeat or beg for food. With patience, we believe she will lose some weight over time. The good news is that Candy gladly participates in daily exercise, which consists of playtime with her wand toys and her toy mice.

If you are looking for a calm and sweet natured kitty, please contact columbiamd.cats@gmail.com to meet Candy!
