Candy's Story

Candy (all grey face) is a beautiful dilute tortoiseshell girl. She is used to other cats and older children, but is afraid of dogs. Her former owner could no longer care for her animals and so Candy is looking for a new home, preferably one that is quiet to moderately active. Candy is so sweet and really enjoys getting pet but will likely be a little shy at first until she is comfortable in her new home.

Animal Protection League's Adoption Policy

Adoption applications typically take 1-2 business days to process. Once that is complete, a member of our Adoption Team will be in contact with you. As a part of our process, we do require a meet and greet appointment at our shelter in Anderson, Indiana. For dog meets, we do require that all family members (both human and canine) attend. Dog and puppy adoption fees range from $100-$250 and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, heartworm testing, microchip, and a free wellness exam. The adoption fee for cats and kittens is $50 and includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, FIV/FELV testing, microchip, and a free wellness exam. Cats or dogs ages 8+ may qualify for a special senior discounted rate of $30 (some breeds are excluded) Dogs from the F.I.D.O. shelter dog prison program are $150.00. They are completely vetted, crate trained, house trained, and know 5 basic commands.
