Cameron the cutie's Story

*** SPECIAL NEEDS Megacolon ***

Hi there, I’m Cameron!

I’m a 5-year-old long-haired brown and black tabby with a big heart (and a little something called megacolon). I know it sounds intimidating, but trust me—I’m just a sweet, laid-back guy who needs a little extra TLC. Let me tell you my story:

I started life as an orphaned newborn in another rescue, bottle-fed by a human who became my world. Unfortunately, things took a rough turn, and I ended up somewhere I wasn’t cared for properly. My bowel issues were ignored for years, and that’s how I ended up with this permanent condition called megacolon. But don’t worry—I’m living a happy life with just a few daily tweaks to my routine.

For one, I don’t always know when I need to go “number two,” so sometimes my poops don’t make it into the litter box. (They’re usually nice and solid, so that’s a plus!) But I’m all good with peeing in the box—yay! I take my meds like a champ—Cisapride and Lactulose twice daily—and I also need a special diet of Hills wet food Fiber Response and belly massages to help my colon keep moving.. I also need a “butt cut” since my hair is so long (trust me, it helps!). I even have an online fan club on Facebook—there’s a whole community out there of cat owners with kitties just like me and who knows exactly how to handle kitties like me. It’s great to have the support of others with being knowledgeable.

Personality-wise, I’m pretty calm, affectionate, and super sweet. I love head butts, purring when you brush my soft fur, and quietly chilling on my heating pad. Laser pointers are my jam, and I enjoy a little catnip now and then. I’m not big on being carried around—but snuggling up next to you? Count me in! I also can’t jump well or handle stairs too easily, so a single-story home or a main-level setup would be perfect.

As far as roommates go, I’m super respectful of other cats. After all, I’m in a community cat room right now, and I get along with everybody. Hyper dogs or loud kiddos might stress me out, but a calm household? That’s my idea of paradise. If you’re the patient, caring type—maybe with some experience in special needs kitties—then we’d be a match made in heaven.

So, are you ready to open your heart and home to a sweet boy with a little extra “maintenance”?** I promise I’ll reward you with endless love, head bumps, and adorable laser-chasing antics. I may be a bit different, but I’m purr-fectly lovable. Let’s make each other happy, one belly rub at a time!

Love,
Cameron

Cameron is ~5 years old. His adoption fee is $75. The adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, FIV/FeLV testing, microchip and basic wellness care such as deworming & flea treatment.

Fill out an application to meet this sweet boy : https://form.jotform.com/242015163806045
